by | Mar 12, 2026

On 12 February 2026, a wrap-up meeting was held to formally conclude the second dispatch visit of the KOICA Project Management Consultant (PMC) Team for the Environment and Natural Resources Information System (ENRIS) towards Food Security and Response to Climate Change Project in Palawan. The visit took place from January 27 to February 11, 2026, during which the PMC team conducted field assessments and initial planning for the project.

During the meeting, the PMC team presented the key findings and observations from the site surveys conducted in selected municipalities. The results of these assessments will contribute to the development of the ENRIS Master Plan, which aims to strengthen environmental monitoring and information management in support of climate resilience and sustainable resource management in Palawan. The team also presented proposed adjustments to the number and distribution of Automated Weather Stations (AWS) and Water Monitoring Stations (WMS) based on the results of their field assessments.

An open forum was held following the presentation, where representatives from the participating local government units shared questions and suggestions regarding the proposed monitoring station locations and other project components. The PMC team acknowledged these inputs and clarified that the proposed sites remain subject to further review and approval.

The meeting also discussed the next steps for the project, including the review and approval of the proposed monitoring stations, the finalization of agreements among partner agencies, and preparations for the Inception Workshop, tentatively scheduled for May 2026.

The wrap-up meeting provided an important opportunity for the KOICA PMC team, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS), local government units, and partner agencies to align on the project’s progress and prepare for the next phase of the KOICA–ENRIS Project implementation.
