The PCSDS-District Management Division (DMD)-North co-facilitates the conduct of Youth Environmental Camp 2022

The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff-District Management Division (DMD)-North co-facilitated the conduct of Youth Environmental Camp 2022 at Tay Lelong’s Pension House in Taytay, Palawan, on October 28-30.

Organized by Malampaya Foundation Incorporated (MFI) in partnership with Local Government Unit (LGU)-Taytay, Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO), Malampaya Sound Protected Landscape and Seascape, and Department of Education, it was participated by selected 48 junior students from Liminangcong National High School, Banbanan National High School, Malampaya San Jose National High School, and St. Ezekiel Moreno High School.

Discussed in the three-day environmental camp were the Role of Youth in Sustainable Environment; Coastal Resource Management and Marine Protected Area; Major coastal habitats; SEP Law; Basic First Aid / Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System (ENIPAS) Law, along with other practical and reflection activities.

With the theme “Nature is our Future”, the activity was held in consonance with Malampaya Foundation Incorporated΄s Barangay Aquatic Habitat and Underwater Regeneration Activity (BAHURA) aimed at crafting coastal programs and solutions instrumental in the coastal management and recovery of abused marine resources.
