In the province of Palawan, the Western Command (WesCom) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) works together with all other uniformed men and women across the country to strive for a stable, fair, and humane society for the people of Palawan.
Through the years, it has endured one war after another and persevered through the most devastating environmental disasters and political turmoil. The costs that they have to pay, and the lives sacrificed, are more than just mere statistics and medals pinned on their uniforms. In their unwavering allegiance and fealty to the call of service, nothing is promised. But they never renege on any of it. Why they do it, is ineffable on its own.
We salute them for reasons we already know. We extol them because of the blood, sweat, and tears they put on the line for the sake of the people, country, and future. In a democratic government such as ours; security, autonomy, and stability are delicate, fragile, and always challenged.
For their outstanding promotion of peace, transparency, governance, and participatory engagement of various sectors or institutions in Palawan Biosphere Reserves, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) conferred the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Peace and Partnership Champion 2022 Award to the Western Command (WesCom) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Congratulations and salute!
