PSU JHS organizes “Fostering Sustainable Development and Empowered Communities through Effective Governance and Youth Leadership” Training

𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑-The Palawan State University Junior High School, in collaboration with the Municipal Government of Quezon through its Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, organized a one-day training titled “Fostering Sustainable Development and Empowered Communities through Effective Governance and Youth Leadership” at Diwata Hall, Quezon, Palawan. Ian Christian Vega was honored as the guest speaker for this event.

The participants included representatives from fourteen barangays in Quezon, comprising Punong Barangays, Brgy. Kagawad Committee Chairs on Environment & Appropriation, Brgy. Secretary, Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson, and Secretary.

The training covered essential topics such as the Implementation of RA 7611 and other environmental laws, the Barangay Seal of Governance, and the roles of Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs). Additionally, discussions delved into the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 (RA 9003), proper conduct of formal meetings, accurate recording of minutes, writing Barangay Resolutions, and the fundamentals of Youth Leadership. The event aimed to equip participants with valuable knowledge and skills for sustainable development and effective community leadership.
