For millions of years, turtles have played a unique and indispensable role in sustaining and stabilizing the interdependence and interrelationships of various life forms on Earth. Their existence, however, is under a world-wide threat, exacerbated by abusive, unregulated human activities, alongside the ever-fluctuating climate, and numerous other factors that jeopardize their survival.
In celebration of the World Turtle Day 2023 with the theme: “Turtles: Guardians of the Oceans,” the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) joins hands with the global community in raising awareness and rallying for conservation and protection efforts geared towards saving our turtles from all forms of threats and harm. After all, their survival is intricately linked to our own.
