The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) participated in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Tree Planting Activity held at the NGP Site in Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, Barangay Montible, Palawan, as part of the National Tree Planting to commemorate the Philippine Environment Month 2022.
Representatives from City ENRO, CENRO, Barangay Montible, Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park (PPSRNP), Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF), Western Command, Philippine Coastguard, Puerto Princesa City Water District, and Katala Foundation Incorporated were present in the said event.
Among those notable persons who joined the event are PCSDS Director Niño Rey C Estoya (Operation Services), Ms. Philippines Earth-San Vicente Christine Glory Balboa, Sub-Colony Supervisor INSP. Darwin Madarcos, and OIC CENRO For. Pedro Velasco.
PCSDS Operations Director Estoya expressed his gratitude to CENRO for inviting the PCSDS to participate in the activity. He assured the DENR that the PCSDS would continue to support the agency in carrying out environmental efforts such as the tree planting activity as he believes that “he who plants a tree, plants hope”. He stressed that such actions may significantly contribute to improving the quality of life for not only the present but also the future generations.
