PCSDS Enforcement Team confiscates Two Chainsaw Units in Aborlan, Palawan

The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS)-Enforcement Team confiscated two (2) chainsaw units after two (2) consecutive operations in Aborlan, Palawan on November 23, 2021.

Based on the Enforcement Team’s report, the first chainsaw unit was confiscated at 4:05 PM on November 23, 2021, from two individuals (2) in Purok Bagong Sigla, Bgy. Iraan, who failed to present necessary documents authorizing their possession of the said chainsaw unit.

At around 4:25 PM on the same day, two (2) individuals were also apprehended by the Enforcement Team in Purok Bagong Sigla, Bgy. Iraan. The said persons were caught in the act of unlawfully using a chainsaw unit that was found to have a defaced serial number.

Cases for violation of R.A. 9175 or the Chainsaw Act of 2002, which penalizes any person who is found to be in possession of a chainsaw and uses the same to cut trees in forest land or elsewhere without any permit from the government, will be filed against the above-mentioned individuals.
