The PCSDS’ Enforcement Team apprehended two (2) individuals for unlawfully using one (1) chainsaw unit in Bgy. Bancao-bancao, Puerto Princesa City on November 13, 2021.
Based on the apprehending team’s report, they immediately went to the given location at 3:30 PM on the same day after they received the information that there was a chainsaw operation activity that occurred in the said barangay.
The chainsaw operators were caught in the act of illegally cutting down a tree using a chainsaw unit which, in the course of the investigation, was found to have a defaced serial number. After the apprehension, the Enforcement Team, on the same day, went to the PNP station to file an incident report regarding the confiscation.
Criminal and/or administrative charges will be filed against the said persons for violating R.A. 9175 or the “Chainsaw Act of 2002.”
