
The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) Enforcement Team confiscated one unit of chainsaw at Brgy. Irawan, Puerto Princesa City on September 7, 2021.
Based on their submitted report, the operation happened during their routine patrol at around 10:30 AM. There, they caught one man operating the seized chainsaw on the trees along the national highway at the aforementioned location.
The operator of the said chainsaw was confirmed to be affiliated as an employee of a business entity operating in Palawan; however, the nature of business/purpose of the apprehended chainsaw activity is still unknown.
The chainsaw is now in the custody of the PCSDS Evidence Custodian and further legal action is underway against the chainsaw operator for violating RA 9175 or the Chainsaw Act of 2002 which prohibits any person from selling, purchasing, transferring the ownership, distributing, or otherwise disposing or possessing a chainsaw without first securing the necessary permit from the proper authorities.
In the province of Palawan, all chainsaw-related permits shall be secured in PCSD through the BRAIN system at www.pcsdbrain.com.
