Participated by all agencies, bureaus, and offices under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the NCA TWG technical meeting deliberated on the latest draft of the Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Capital Accounting System (PENCAS) Bill and the DENR Administrative Order on NCA mainstreaming into the country’s economic and environmental programs and goals.
The discussion was also anchored on the approved NCA Roadmap developed by the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in partnership with the DENR.
NCA will involve accounting of the environmental assets and natural resources as well as the ecosystem services that it provides. This will guide and enable the government and its partner-agencies in formulating policies and programs for the country’s national development while giving light to sustainable use of our finite sources.
