On December 14, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) ECAN Monitoring and Evaluation Division (EMED) facilitated the Post-Workshop meeting with the core organizers of the “Review and Updating of the Palawan Research and Sustainable Development Agenda (PRSDA) 2030”.

The core organizers were composed of staff from ECAN Policy and Research Planning Division (EPRPD) in collaboration with representatives from Palawan Knowledge Partners (PKP), City Government of Puerto Princesa, Provincial Government of Palawan, Department of Education (DepEd), Palawan State University (PSU), and Fullbright College.

The meeting saw the initial drafting of the template for PRSDA out of the consolidated reports from PRSDA organizers and partners, targeting the needs of Palawan community in terms of research and technical assistance, which included the presentation of the working documents and inputs derived from the initial meeting of the concerned agencies held on November 23-24 at the Palawan State University Hostel.

The PRSDA, which is funded by Forest Foundation Philippines (FFP), seeks to determine the priority research that would monitor the progress of Palawan towards achieving the Palawan Sustainable Development Goals, and adopt relevant and feasible indicators of United National Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 on local/provincial levels, as a blueprint for green economy.

It also seeks to develop localized indicators to prioritize and keep track of 17 SDGs progress in Palawan; gather feedback from stakeholders regarding the SDG priorities and ascertain their relevance and role in the achievement of the PRSDA; and identify possible research collaborations among the academic or research institutions, concerned government agencies, and civic society organizations in Palawan.
