PCSDS DMD-North conducts a Rapid Assessment Team Orientation for damage assessment on the oil spill contamination in Taytay

On March 23, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)-North conducted a Rapid Assessment Team Orientation for the conduct of damage assessment on the oil spill contamination off the capsized MT Princess Empress which already reached the municipal waters of Taytay.

Held at the Taytay Municipal Hall, the Rapid Assessment Team Orientation informed the Taytay Oil Spill Damage Assessment Taskforce composed of local government units of Taytay and its partners, on the dynamics and methods in conducting the damage assessment into the breadth and scale of the oil slick contamination on its marine ecosystem.

The orientation was participated by representatives and key personnel from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Environment Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), Taytay Protected Area Management Office (PAMO), El Nido Protected Area Management Office (PAMO).

It was also joined by Taytay Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO), Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Office of the Municipal Agriculture (OMA), Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police (PNP), and Philippine Maritime Unit (PMU).
