PCSDS DMD-North attends the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) En Banc meeting on Malampaya Sound Protected Landscape and Seascape (MSPLS)

The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Division Management (DMD)-North attended the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) En Banc meeting on Malampaya Sound Protected Landscape and Seascape (MSPLS) at Tay Lelong’s Pension House in Poblacion, Taytay, February 2.

The aforementioned meeting deliberated on the requests and recommendations on projects and programs seeking to be implemented within the areas covered by the Malampaya Sound Protected Landscape and Seascape.

In its last meeting, the PAMB En Banc eyed through the project proposal of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for a tree-cutting permit in Sitio Ibangley, Barangay Abongan, in the municipality of Taytay.

It also assessed the Large Marine Vertebrates Research Institute Philippines (LAMAVE) three project lines: 1.) Marine Turtle Conservation Enhancement 2.) Irrawaddy Dolphin Conservation Enhancement and National Rapid Bycatch Assessment of threatened species within the Boundaries of MSPLS.

The PAMB En Banc also deliberated on the project proposal of Ipil Fisherfolk Association for the construction and establishment of floating bamboo cage to be used as storing of collected Kabitsen (Anadara granosa) in Sitio Ipil, Barangay Bato, Taytay, Palawan.

It also discussed through the resolution endorsing the project of the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature Philippines entitled Plastic Waste Reduction in Small Island Fishing Communities in Taytay Bay.

As a member of PAMB En Banc, PCSDS attends its regular meetings to adjudicate on the En Banc’s decisions and deliberations, through PCSD’s mandate and wisdom in enforcing Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) Law and related-policies, with the help of other government agencies and people-organizations.
