by | Mar 12, 2026

On March 10, 2026, the PCSDS District Management Division – Calamian (DMD–Calamian) participated in the CGI SGP-7 Grantees Annual Conference 2026, organized by Community Centred Conservation (C3) Philippines, the NGO Hub of the United Nations Development Programme Small Grants Programme (SGP-7) for the Calamianes Group of Islands. The conference carried the theme “Reflection, Learning, and Action: Sustaining the Gains of SGP-7 Partners in the Calamianes Group of Islands.”

As part of PCSDS’s ongoing efforts to engage with stakeholders and partners in the Calamianes, the PCSDS DMD–Calamian provided an overview of the policy framework under Republic Act No. 7611, otherwise known as the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) for Palawan. The presentation also highlighted the Environmentally Critical Areas Network (ECAN) Zoning System and the relevant compliance requirements pursuant to PCSD Administrative Order No. 06, as amended, and PCSD Administrative Order No. 12, as amended.

The activity is an opportunity for PCSDS through the District Management Division of Calamian to strengthen further its collaboration with civil society organizations, SGP-7 grantees, and community partners in the Calamianes. It also enabled participants to gain a better understanding of Palawan’s environmental policies and regulatory processes, while encouraging them to align their community-based conservation initiatives with the SEP Law and the long-term environmental management objectives for the Calamianes Group of Islands.
