Josil’s Pension, Taytay, Palawan– In pursuance of Taytay’s sound and sustainable environmental well-being, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)-Calamian joined the Shark Fin Bay Marine Protected Area (MPA) Network Management Council Team Building and Planning Workshop on August 3.
The event served as a venue for the MPA Management Council members to tackle the program-activities for strengthened protection and conservation of Shark Fin Bay through a multi-sectoral approach, including but not limited to the financial aspects, members-camaraderie, and the roles of the LGU offices and organizations concerning its implementation.
The participants attended the deliberations on the accomplishments of the Shark Fin Bay MPA Council for 2022-2023, Shark Fin Bay MPA Management Plan for 2023-2028, and Planning workshop on programs and allocation of funds for 2024 (Enforcement; Habitat Management; Organizational Development; Coordination and Extension; and Information, Education, and Communication).
It was attended by representatives from the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), and Municipal Tourism Office (MTO). Furthermore, representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Sulubaaï Foundation, and Barangay Corezone Management Boards of Bgy. Depla, Bgy. Silanga, and Bgy. Sandoval were active in the event, in furtherance of Shark Fin Bay MPA maintenance.
