Barangay Hall ng Barangay Binudac, Culion,Palawan– On August 8, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)- Calamian provided lectures on PCSD-related laws and policies during the member- mentoring conducted by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Culion to the members of Barangay Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (BFARMC) in the municipality.
The mentoring activity aimed to widen and deepen the reinforcement of fisheries regulations in the municipality of Culion. As such, the PCSDS discussed the Republic Act (RA) No. 10654, the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998; RA No. 9147, Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act; RA No. 7611, Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan Act; PCSD Administrative Order No. 5; and Administrative Order No. 12 to the members of BFARMC.
The mentoring activity also underscored the effort of BFARMC and the local government units of Culion for the holistic well-being of the municipality’s fisheries to be achieved through the collaborative participation of the private and public sectors in Culion.
PCSD and its staff are implementers of the Republic Act No. 7611, or the Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan Law for sustainable development in the province.
