The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division-North attended the workshop output on the formulation of the Marine Protected Area (MPA) Network Habitat for the Project Conservation of Northeast Palawan Marine Protected Area Network held in Roxas, Palawan, on January 25.

The meeting discussed the project conservation status of Northeast Palawan Marine Protected Area Network (NPMPAN). As such, it threshed out the MPA Network-level Habitat Management Plan, together with the validation of programs and strategies for the protection; conservation; and management of NPMPAN, as stipulated in the updated Conservation Management Plan created by WFF in November 2022.

Started in 2017, the Northeastern Palawan Marine Protected Area Network is a project of the World Wildlife Fund (WFF)-Philippines to protect and conserve the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) of the municipalities of Roxas, Dumaran, Araceli, Taytay, El Nido, and Linapacan.

The PCSD, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Palawan along with the Office of the Provincial Agriculture and other agencies, aids in the implementation and operationalization of the provisions stipulated in the Conservation Management Plan for NPMPAN through law enforcement, programs, and initiatives.
