On March 1, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) through District Management Division (DMD)-North Acting Manager Apollo V. Regalo served as resource speaker during the Review and Enhancement of the Municipal Fishery and Marine Protected Area Ordinance of Roxas, Palawan.
Conducted by the Community Centred Conservation (C3) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Roxas, the event was participated in by fish wardens, barangay officials, and staff of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of the same municipality.
Mr. Regalo discussed the importance of PCSD Coastal Environmentally Critical Areas Network (ECAN) Zoning; PCSD Resolution 15-521 or Updated List of Terrestrial and Marine Wildlife in Palawan and their categories pursuant to Republic Act No. 9147; and PCSD Admin Order No. 5 or the Guidelines for the Regulation and Monitoring of Catching, Culture, Trade, Transport and Export of Reef-Fish-For-Food in Palawan.
He also explained the PCSD Admin Order No. 12 or the Guidelines in the implementation of the Republic Act No. 9147 and joint DENR-DA-PCSD Administrative Order No. 1.
The continuous review and enhancement of the municipal fishery and marine protected area ordinance of Roxas ensures the relevant protection and conservation of the marine resources of the municipality.
