RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ATTY. JOSELITO C. ALISUAG AND ATTY. ADELINA B. BENAVENTE-VILLENA TO DIRECT AND PERSONALLY HANDLE CASES AND TO PROVIDE OTHER LEGAL SERVICES.

WHEREAS, June 19, 1992 Republic Act No. 7611 was enacted adopting the strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan as a comprehensive framework for the sustainable development that will guide the local government units and the government agencies concerned in the formulation of plans, programs and projects, including the utilization, development, protection and management of Palawan’s natural resources;

WHEREAS, Section 16 thereof provides for the creation of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD), the administrative machinery that will provide the governance, policy direction and implementation of the SEP and section 20 provide for the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) as PCSD’s technical and professional staff, which shall provide the mechanisms and structure to coordinate the policy and functions, implement programs, and organize such services as may be required by the PCSD in the exercise of its functions;

WHEREAS, services requiring the application of legal knowledge and expertise are vital and necessary to support the PCSD in the exercise of its powers and functions enumerated in Section 19 of Republic Act No. 7611, especially in the enforcement of environmental laws and the prosecution of cases;

WHEREAS, the existing legal knowledge and expertise in the PCSD staff should be tapped in handling cases and in providing other legal services;

WHEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing premises, be it RESOLVED, as it is hereby RESOLVED to authorize Atty. Joselito C. Alisuag and Atty. Adelina B. Benavente-Villena to directly and personally handle cases and to provide other legal services.

RESOLVED FINALLY, that Atty. Alisuag and Atty. Villena be furnished with copies of this resolution for their information and guidance.
