RESOLUTION FURTHER AMENDING THE AMENDED RULES AND REGULATIONS IMPLEMENTING THE STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN FOR PALAWAN ACT.

WHEREAS, the amended rules and regulations implementing the Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan Act was formulated and approved by the Council in 25 May 1993;

WHEREAS, in the PCSD meeting of December 5, 1996, the Council approved the deletion of the phrase ‘ which is not for profit” in Section 10, Number 2, Subsection b of the above cited PCSD Implementing Rules and Regulations;

NOWTHEREFORE, upon motion of Cong. Abueg, Jr. duly seconded by Cong. Vicente A. Sandoval; the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development hereby;

RESOLVED, as it is hereby Resolved to delete the phase ‘which is not for profit” in Section 10, Number 2, Subsection b of the amended rules and regulations implementing the strategic environment plan for Palawan Act, and for said subsection to now read as:

b. Controlled Use Area – outer protective barrier that encircles the core and restricted use areas. Strictly controlled mining and logging, almaciga tapping, tourism development, research, grazing and gathering of honey, rattan and other minor forest products may be allowed. This shall include the:

1. 1. Altitude limit from 100-300 meters elevation.

 

1. 1. Lower altitude limit can go up to 300 meters if it would not cause negative ecological impacts, but the high altitude limit shall not exceed 500 meters.

 

1. In areas where there is a community within or immediately adjacent to a restricted use are, a controlled use zone could be delineated from the restricted use area for use of the community.”

RESOLVED, finally that copy of this Resolution be furnished to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for information and guidance.
