PCSD RESOLUTION NO. 94-60
RESOLUTION EXTENDING AND/OR SPECIFYING THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE NON-REGULAR MEMBERS OF THE PALAWAN COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, R.A 7611, otherwise known as the Strategic Environment Plan (SEP) for the Palawan, took effect on 19, June 1992 and Section 16 of said act provides that the SEP shall exercised by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD), under the Office of the President;
WHEREAS, the same section 16 of the said act provides that majority of the council, as it may deem necessary, invite such other members from the public and private sectors thereby expanding the membership of the Council;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the NIPAS law, R.A 7586, there is a need to organize Protected Area Management Boards (PAMBs) in the respective protected areas in the Province of Palawan;
WHEREAS, the Department of Justice through its opinion No’s. 90 and 136 series of 1994, took cognizance for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to harmonize its sustainable development activities in Palawan with the Council;
NOW THEREFORE, upon motion by Usec. Ricardo M. Umali, duly seconded by Cong. Alfredo E. Abueg Jr., all members of the Council present;
RESOLVED, as it hereby resolve, that the Council enjoin, as it hereby enjoin, the DENR to coordinate with PCSD in the organization of the PAMBs in the Province and require that the Council and/or its Staff be duly represented in the said PAMBs to be organized;
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the final composition of the said PAMBs be duly confirmed by the PCSD;
RESOLVED FINALLY that copies of this resolution be sent to the Secretary of DENR, concerned local government units and agencies for their information, consideration and appropriate action;
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 30th day of September, 1994 in Quezon City.
