RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GOVERNOR SALVADOR P. SOCRATES, IN HIS CAPACITY AS CHAIRMAN OF THE PALAWAN COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT TO ISSUE SALVAGE PERMITS, GRATUITOUS PERMITS AND PRIVATE LAND TIMBER PERMITS.

WHEREAS, there is a felt a pressing need for the supply of Timber materials in the Province of Palawan;

WHEREAS, this situation hampers, and adversely affects, the prosecution; of public infrastructure projects, as well as private houses and other projects throughout the entire Province and City;

WHEREAS,, unless the situation is reminded the soonest tome possible, the destruction of the forest cover thru illegal logging activities would proliferate and remain unabated to the perception now that people resort to illegal means because they could not secure lumber by any legal means;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion by Dean Teodoro Q. Peña, duly seconded by Congressman David A. Ponce de Leon and Congressman Alfredo E. Abueg:

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to authorize Gov. Salvador P. Socrates of Palawan, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development, to issue Salvage permits, Gratuitous Permits and Private Land Timber Permits to qualified applicant strictly in accordance with the Department of Natural Resources (DENR) law, rules and regulations as recommended by the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO);

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished to the CENROs, the Provincial Environment & Natural Resources Office (PENRO), the Secretary of Department of Environment and Natural Resources and City and Municipal Mayors of Palawan;
