RESOLUTION PROPOSING FOR THE IMMEDIATE HIRING OF EXECUTIVE ASSISTANTS FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE PALAWAN COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 16 R.A. 7611, hereto attached as Annex 1.the governance, implementation and policy direction of the Strategic Environment Plan (SEP) shall be exercised by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD);

WHEREAS, the PCSD was duly constituted on 15 August 1992 with ten members mandated by law as provided for in the section referred to in the preceding paragraph;

WHEREAS, mandated members are empowered to choose additional members from the public and private sectors to sit in the Council and as of date, representatives from the following organization/office were designated: Integrated Bar of the Philippines- Palawan Chapter, Western Command -AFP, tribal communities, non-governmental organizations, and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Palawan;

WHEREAS, the aforementioned 15 members of the Council are concurrently holding key positions in their respective organizations/offices with their commitment responsibilities;

WHEREAS, the issues and other concerns being addressed to by the Council need immediate attention but often require further study and evaluation as well as consultations with concerned communities and entities;

WHEREAS, the Council deems it necessary and appropriate to contract the service of personal staff to provide technical support for each of the members and performs the functions enumerated in Annex 2 of this resolution;

NOW THEREFOR, the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development resolves to propose for the expedient hiring of executive assistants whose compensation for services rendered will be charged to the Council’s P5 M additional appropriation of fiscal year 1993;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and other concerned agencies be furnished copies of this resolution for their consideration and appropriate action.
