RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CY 1993 WORK PROGRAM OF THE PALAWAN COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT STAFF

WHEREAS, by virtue of Section 20 of R.A. 7611. Otherwise know as the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) for Palawan Act, the Palawan Integrated Area Development Office (PIADPO) was converted to the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development (PCSD) and shall provide the machinery to coordinate the policy and functions, implement programs, and organize such services as may be required by the Council in the exercise of tits functions;

WHEREAS, Rule VIII (Transitory Provisions) of the Rules and Regulations Implementing the Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan Act, provides that the PCSDS shall continue to pursue the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the activities, programs and projects of the Second Palawan Integrated Area Development Project, among its other functions;

WHEREAS, as per the General Appropriation Act of 1993, the PCSDS was appropriated EIGTHEEN MILLION SEVEN HHUNDRED ELEVEN THOUSAND PESOS (18,711,000) as the Project Management Administration component of SPIADP for its CY 2993 operation to include the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of SPIADP, a summary of activities and estimated cost is hereto attached as Annex “1”;

WHEREAS, an additional FIVE MILLION PESOS (p5,000,000) was allocated for the PCSDS from the lump sum appropriations of the current fiscal year to cover the operating expenses of the PCSD and preliminary activities for the delineation of boundaries under the Environmentally Critical Areas Network (ECAN), a summary of which is also shown in Annex “1”;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development resolves to approve the program of work of the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development for CY 1993.
