RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEW ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE AND STAFFING PATTERN FOR THE PALAWAN COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT STAFF

WHEREAS, the present organizational structure and staffing pattern of the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development (PCSD) and the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) is a carry over from the Palawan IAD Project Office (PIADPO) which was converted tot he PCSDS by virtue of Section 20 of Republic Act no. 7611;

WHEREAS, the same section mandates that PCSDS “shall serve as the regular professional support staff of the Council and shall provide the machinery to coordinate the policy and functions, implement programs and organize such services as may be required by the Council in the exercise of its functions.”

WHEREAS, the same Section further provides for the transfer of , among others, the applicable powers and functions of PIADPO to PCSDS;

WHEREAS, the PCSDS cannot effectively and adequately execute its powers and functions given its present organizational structure and staffing pattern;

WHEREAS, PCSD is empowered under Section 19 of RA 7611 to prescribe a compensation and staffing pattern that is appropriated and responsive to the purposes and objectives of the SEP;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as it is hereby resolved that the Council approve the new organizational structure and staffing pattern for PCSD/PCSDS.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the new organizational structure and staffing pattern and a copy of this Resolution be submitted to the Department of Budget and Management for its consideration and approval.
