A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ECAN MAP OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BATARAZA

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 19, Chapter V of R.A. No.7611, the PCSD is vested with the power to adopt, amend, rescind such rules and regulations for the effective implementation of the provisions of Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan;

WHEREAS, the main strategy of the SEP is the establishment of the Environmentally Critical Areas Network (ECAN), a graded system of protection and development control over the whole of Palawan, through the corresponding ECAN Mapping and Zoning;

WHEREAS, the Updated ECAN Map (v.2005) of the Municipality of Bataraza was updated/refined based on PCSD Resolution No. 05-250 and PCSD Administrative Order No. 09, series of 2005;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Bataraza adopted the Updated ECAN Map (v.2005) through Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 01 Series of 2006 dated January 9, 2006;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 36, Chapter V, Title 3 of PCSD Resolution No. 05-250, the Council is mandated to approve the Municipal/City ECAN Map as endorsed by the respective local government units.

WHEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, the Council RESOLVED to Approve as it hereby Approved the Updated ECAN Map (v.2005) of the Municipality of Bataraza, attached in Annex A hereof and made integral part of this resolution.

RESOLVED FURTHER, to require the alignment with the ECAN map of all plans, programs and projects to be implemented in the Municipality of Bataraza.

RESOLVED FURTHERMORE to require the Municipal Government of Bataraza to integrate/harmonize its Comprehensive Land and Water Use Plan (CLUP) and Zoning Ordinance (ZO) with the ECAN Map.

RESOLVED FINALLY, to furnish copies of this resolution the Municipal Government of Bataraza, the Provincial Government of Palawan and other concerned sectors for their guidance.

UNANIMOUSLY Adopted this 21st of April, 2006 in Puerto Princesa City.
