
One Variable Monitor Lizard (ππ’π³π’π―πΆπ΄ π±π’ππ’πΈπ’π―π¦π―π΄πͺπ΄) was turned over by Mr. Christian Saulong of Barangay Tagumpay, Municipality of Coron, Palawan to the District Management Division – Calamian Office of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff on September 23, 2021.
Mr. Saulong, who works for PCBSI Port Terminal Management Corp in the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) of Coron and performs cargo reconciliation services, found the Variable Monitor Lizard wandering around the Coron port area on the same day. At around 5:51 PM on that day, he handed over the reptile to the PCSDS DMD Calamian office.
On September 24, 2021, the Variable Monitor Lizard, listed as βEndangered Speciesβ under PCSD Resolution No. 15-521, was released back to its natural habitat.
