One Southeast Asian Box turtle turned over to PCSDS

One Southeast Asian Box turtle (๐˜Š๐˜ถ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ข ๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ด) was turned over to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) by Mr. Rolan Tindog of Barangay San Pedro, Puerto Princesa City on Monday, December 6, 2021.

Said turtle listed as โ€œEndangered Speciesโ€ under Resolution no. 15-521, was found by Mr. Tindog along the North National Highway in Barangay Sta. Lourdes, Puerto Princesa City on November 5, 2021.

According to Mr. Tindog, he had no idea about the existing law that protects these types of wildlife but he has turned it over to the PCSDS for proper care. He also said that in case he sees any more wild animals, he will immediately take them to the authorities.

The surrendered species has a curved carapace length of 19 cms and curved carapace width of 17 cms.
