
One Southeast Asian Box turtle (𝘊𝘶𝘰𝘳𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴) was turned over to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) by Mr. Kevin L. Barrion of Barangay San Miguel, Puerto Princesa City on December 24, 2021.
Mr. Barrion, a Philippine Air Force (PAF) enlisted personnel, narrated that he found the turtle on the premises of airmen’s dormitory at the 570th CTW Antonio Bautista Air Base, Puerto Princesa City on December 18, 2021. However, due to ongoing emergency responses for Typhoon Odette’s aftermath, he was only able to hand over the turtle to PCSDS on December 24, 2021.

The Southeast Asian Box turtle has a curved carapace length of 16.51 cm and curved carapace width of 12.7 cm.
The Southeast Asian Box turtle, listed as “Endangered Species” under the PCSD Resolution 15-521, was in good shape when it was turned over to the PCSDS.
