One Oriental Small-clawed Otter (𝘈𝘰𝘯𝘺𝘹 𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘢), locally known as “Dungon,” was turned over by Mr. Butch Solano of Sitio Dumarogdog, Barangay Sowangan, Quezon, Palawan to the PCSDS-Wildlife Enforcement team on December 12, 2021.
Mr. Solano narrated that the otter entered their home around 2:00 PM on December 11, 2021. He went on to say that they caught the “Dungon” and fed it before contacting the PCSDS Wildlife Enforcement team to retrieve the otter.
The PCSD-Wildlife Enforcement team was dispatched and responded to the area the same day to retrieve the wildlife species.
The Oriental Small-clawed Otter is listed as an “Endangered Species” under the PCSD Resolution No. 15-521.
