Maasin, Brooke’s Point, Palawan to the PCSDS Wildlife Trafficking Monitoring Unit Sub Office-Brookeโ€™s Point on November 26, 2021.

Mrs. Cruz, a School teacher by profession, narrated that the Blue-naped Parrot, which came from Barangay Canipaan, Rizal, Palawan, was given to her son as a gift by a friend of hers.

After nearly three (3) months of caring for the bird, she was informed that there is an existing Wildlife Law that is being implemented in Palawan. She voluntarily surrendered the tamed bird to the PCSDS WTMO- Brooke’s Point for proper custody after learning about the aforementioned law.

The Blue-naped Parrot is listed as a โ€œCritically Endangered speciesโ€ under the PCSD Resolution No. 15-521.

The PCSDS urges persons who happen to find or rescue wildlife to turn them over to our office, which can be contacted thru hotline numbers 0935-116-2336 (Globe/TM) and 0948-937-2200 (Smart/TNT). You may also send a message to our Facebook page for your other concerns.
