Coron, Palawan — October 10, 2025. The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS), through the District Management Division–Calamian, participated in the 3-day Environmental Youth Action Camp held at Darayonan Lodge, Coron, Palawan.

Representing the DMD Calamian, Ms. Anafrael Roxas served as one of the resource speakers during the event, which was organized by the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist of Coron in partnership with Malampaya Foundation, Inc. The camp forms part of the ongoing Coastal Resources Management Program, which engages communities and stakeholders in sustainable coastal and marine conservation efforts.

In her session, Ms. Roxas discussed the roles of the youth in sustainable development and environmental conservation, emphasizing the importance of compliance with environmental laws and regulations. The participants were oriented on the key features of the unique legislation specific to Palawan, otherwise known as the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) for Palawan Act.

The youth camp gathered participants from selected schools in Coron, providing an interactive platform for young leaders to learn about environmental protection and develop initiatives that promote sustainability within their communities.

This collaborative effort underscores the shared commitment of the PCSDS, the local government, and partner organizations to empower the next generation of environmental advocates—nurturing their capacity to help safeguard Palawan’s rich biodiversity and ensure a more sustainable future for all.
