Environmental Monitoring and Evaluation System
The EMES ensures a systematic and reliable means of data generation for the various concerns of SEP. It shall measure changes in the environmental status, identify adverse environmental trends and crisis areas, recommend solutions, assess the implementation of SEP, and suggest measures to make SEP more flexible to changing needs.
Environmental Education and Extension
An environmental education and communication program shall be designed to gradually wean the people away from destructive practices and to recommend alternative practices. Non-government, government groups and target beneficiaries shall work hand-in-hand in the design and implementation of the Environmental information and education campaign (IEC). Community organization and non-formal education approaches shall be applied as appropriate.
Research in the aspects affecting SEP shall be conducted to help solve planning and implementation problems, as well as policy and socio-economic issues.
