The 2019 International Conference on Biosphere and Sustainability will be held in the World’s Best Island, Palawan, in the Philippines. It will bring an excellent experience of lectures from distinguished experts from different regions of the world, global networking, Filipino hospitality and culture in Philippines’ last frontier and a UNESCO designated biosphere reserve, the province of Palawan.  Known for its unique megadiverse environment, Palawan is among the 8 Top Destinations in the Philippines1. It is surrounded with amazing sceneries of limestone cliffs, lush green forest and white sand beaches, with the (2) UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park and the Puerto Princesa Underground River National Park (PPUR).

The conference venue is located in the city of Puerto Princesa, a gateway to the province of Palawan.  It is home to PPUR, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New7Wonders of Nature, that features a spectacular limestone karst landscape with an underground river.  The city has been acclaimed several times as the cleanest and greenest city in the Philippines, and has been a popular tourist destination with its eco-tourism activities, beach resorts and seafood restaurants.  The mainland of Palawan and Puerto Princesa City, is accessible through the Puerto Princesa International Airport, having regular direct flights to and from Manila, as well as other major cities of the Philippines such as Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Clark.

Accommodation and Tourism

For international participants, registration fee includes accommodation during the conference period.For those who wish to arrive early or extend their stay, the participant may contact the conference organizers to facilitate bookings and reservations.  However, additional fees will be borne by the participant.

The conference offers a half day city tour for free. Should the participant wish to join other activities such as PPUR tour or island hopping in Honda Bay, booking with a tour agency should be arranged by the participant in advance.
