Experts unite in national forum designed to solve unique challenges in small island communities

September 26, 2024- The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) is currently participating in a forum composed of fellow experts, researchers, academicians, and local government officials to craft a comprehensive research agenda focused on sustainable agricultural practices and responsible management of natural resources. This is the 1st National Forum on Agricultural Development & Natural Resource Management for Small Islands in the Philippines. Moreover, challenges unique to these communities are also being discussed, such as climate change, resource scarcity, and agricultural development.

The event was organized by the Agricultural Systems Institute (ASI) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in collaboration with Palawan State University (PalawanSU) and funded by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatics, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD). It is currently being held at the PalSU Amphitheater until the 27th of September 2024.
