Biodiversity and Energy 101

During the celebration of the 24th Anniversary of the SEP Law last 19 June 2016, the University of the Philippines, Provincial Government of Palawan, City Government of Puerto Princesa, PCSD and the UP Alumni Association entered into a Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation in strengthening the research and training roles of academic institutions in pursuing the practice of sustainable development through the establishment of a Center for Sustainable Development in Palawan.

The Palawan Center for Sustainable Development (PCSD) is envisioned to be the training and social marketing HUB to evoke consciousness among stakeholders on how to sustainably manage Palawan’s environment. It shall focus on enhancing capabilities of different stakeholders (LGU’s, PAMB, ECAN Board members) and highlights best practices observed to ensure sustainable development.

As an initial course offering the following topics will be discussed. Biodiversity, Energy, Forestry and Watershed Management. This will be held at Palawan Sustainable Development Training Institute, Brgy. Irawan, Puerto Princesa City.
