On September 2, 2025, PCSDS OED-Legal Services Section served as resource speakers during the Forest Law Enforcement and Environmental Protection Deputation Training organized by LGU-Roxas at the New Municipal Hall, for the members of the Roxas Bantay Gubat, personnel of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), and staff of the Katala Foundation, Inc.

The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of local enforcement groups and environmental partners by sharing the PCSD’s Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) Law (RA 7611) and Administrative Order No. 6 as amended, with emphasis on its policy directions and regulatory mechanisms to safeguard Palawan’s environment. Further, the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (RA 9147) and its implementing rules, focusing on Palawan’s endemic and threatened species as well as the prohibited acts, highlighting enforcement protocols for wildlife-related violations.

In addition, the provisions of the Chainsaw Act of 2002 (RA 9175) and Administrative Order No. 7 were explained to provide regulations pertaining to the possession, transport, and use of chainsaws, including procedures for apprehension of violators.

The active participation of the trainees, including the Municipal Administrator and CENRO representative, during the open forum and case-sharing underscored their strong commitment to protecting Roxas’ forests and wildlife resources with the PCSD, to ensure the strict implementation of environmental laws in Palawan.
