More or less 3,417 board feet of abandoned Apitong and Amugis lumber were recovered on Monday, July 11 at Purok Pagkakaisa, Barangay Tabon in Quezon Town.

The said lumber was discovered at around 2p.m. by the Provincial Law Enforcement Task Force (PLETF) thru the joint elements of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) Enforcement Team and Bantay Palawan.

Criminal and/or administrative charges will be filed against them for violation of Presidential Decree 705 or the Forestry Code.

The lumber will be brought to Puerto Princesa City for proper disposition.

In 15 days, three apprehensions/confiscations, including this recent one, were launched in Quezon town. It can be noted that on June 27, a patrol operation conducted by the PLETF led to the confiscation of 899 board ft. of Nato, Ipil, Apitong and other fresh cut lumber in different areas at Sitio Dumalag, Bgy. Panitian. A week after, a total of 1,603 board ft. of Ipil lumber were seized on July 6 from three separate individuals at Sitio Ikba, Bgy. Isugod.
