3,082 board feet of illegally gathered, possessed lumber confiscated

Enforcement authorities confiscated more or less 3,082 board feet of illegally gathered and possessed freshly cut Ipil, Amugis and Sakot lumber used for constructing five units of motor launch in Bgy. Sapa, Bataraza, Palawan on February 8.

Persons allegedly involved were the following: Obong Mohamad, Dihing Alie, and Hayati Dugasan. The three violated Presidential Decree No. 705, otherwise known as Forestry Code, for collecting and possessing forest products without proper permit from the competent government agency.

A detailed seizure receipt of the above-mentioned items was made. The confiscated items were temporarily placed under the custody of Bgy. Chairman Aslie Julhani of Bgy. Sapa and proper case against the identified violator shall be charged accordingly.

The operation was launched by the members of the Provincial Law Enforcement Task Force, composed of Bantay Palawan, PCSDS Enforcement Team and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, as per request of CENRO-Brooke’s Point regarding the information received from the National Watch Center.
