A Reticulated Python (𝘗𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴) was retrieved on February 10, 2021 by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff District Management Office-Brooke’s Point after it was rescued by Captain Lafayette Dela Calzada of Cargo vessel EVERWIN 5.

Captain Dela Calzada narrated that the said reticulated python, which measures 190.5 cm in length and weighs 2.75 kg, was found in the cargo vessel out of nowhere on February 10, 2021. He immediately reported the incident to Philippine Port Authority Chief Security guard SG Edgar Cario and then coordinated with the PCSDS.

The reptile was found to be active even though it sustained minor injuries. Upon an instruction and further coordination with the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, the reptile was released back to its natural habitat in an undisclosed location in Brooke’s Point, Palawan on the same day.
