On 10-11 October 2023, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) ECAN Monitoring and Evaluation Division (EMED) attended the Training on Measurement and Monitoring of Turbidity and Surface Water Flow at the Alvea Hotel, Puerto Princesa City.

Organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Safe Water in partnership with Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD), it was also attended by representatives from City Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO), Puerto Princesa City Local Government Unit (LGU), Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office- Environmental Management Bureau (PENRO-EMB), Palawan State University (PSU), and Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

The training aimed to engage the community in monitoring turbidity as a water quality parameter and measuring surface water flow. The participants also enhanced their technical skills in monitoring turbidity by using advanced onsite devices. Furthermore, they had an opportunity to have hands-on experience at the Montible Watershed. #PCSDNews#pcsdupdates

Ito ay inorganisa ng United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Safe Water, sa pakikipagtulungan sa Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD). Ito ay dinaluhan ng mga kinatawan ng City Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO), Puerto Princesa City Local Government Unit ( LGU), Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office- Environmental Management Bureau (PENRO-EMB), Palawan State University (PSU) , at Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

Ang nasabing pagsasanay ay naglalayong hikayatin ang komunidad na matutunang subaybayan ang kalabuan (turbidity) at daloy ng tubig sa kanilang lugar. Nilinang din nito ang teknikal na kaalaman ng mga kalahok, sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng mga ‘advanced onsite device’ para sa nasabing water monitoring. Nagkaroon din sila ng hands-on na pagsasanay sa Montible Watershed.
