Puerto Princesa City, Palawan─ To provide a platform and capacitate knowledge-sharing and collaboration for the refinement and implementation of the programs and initiatives by the Palawan Knowledge Partners (PKP), the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) led by the ECAN Monitoring and Evaluation Division (EMED) Chief, Engr. Madrono P. Cabrestante, Jr. organized the 36th PKP Meeting at the Hue Hotels and Resorts in Puerto Princesa on May 12.

The PKP was established in 2014 as a collaborative effort among members of the academe, non-government organizations (NGO), and civil society organizations (CSOs). Their collective objective is to promote efficient, inclusive, and sustainable development and conservation of Palawan Biosphere Reserves.

The 36th PKP meeting, which saw the participation of 41 representatives from 29 partner-agencies, provided an avenue for the presentation and deliberation of the proposed and on-going projects of the PKP member-institutions. These projects included:

1.) Results of Green Assessment for Palawan: Post-Typhoon Odette

2.) Research plans by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO)

3.) Preparations for the 2023 International Conference on Biosphere and Sustainability; and

4.) Initial draft of PKP Manual of Operations.
