𝐏𝐂𝐒𝐃𝐒 𝐃𝐌𝐃 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧

𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒-The PCSDS DMD Calamian successfully rescued two female long-tailed macaques in Barangay Decalachao, Coron, Palawan.

The rescue operation was initiated following a report from a concerned citizen on the same day, highlighting the presence of the distressed macaques in the area. Responding promptly to the call, the PCSD DMD Calamian swiftly coordinated efforts to ensure the safe retrieval of the animals.

The rescued macaques are currently under the care of PCSD DMD Calamian Staff and will be subsequently turned over to the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (PWRCC) for rehabilitation.

The Philippine Long-Tailed Macaque is listed as an “Endangered Species” under the PCSD Resolution No. 23-967 (unpublished).

The PCSDS encourages fellow citizens who happen to encounter any live wildlife to leave them alone in their natural habitat.
