𝐏𝐂𝐒𝐃𝐒 𝐃𝐌𝐃-𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧

𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧- Organized by USAID Fish Right, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)- Calamian joined the Pagsarayen Learning Sites Visits on July 27, 2023.

It was also attended by the two mayors from Occidental Mindoro namely: Hon. Dante C. Esteban of Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro; Hon. Marlon V. Dela Torre, Looc, Occidental Mindoro; Culion Mayor Hon. Virginia De Vera; Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Region IV-B Regional Director Mr. Emmanuel Asis, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Associate Secretary Associate Secretary Ms. Lilian De Leon, and Palawan Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Romeo Cabungcal, along with community environmental leaders and supporters, among others.

Through the Pagsarayen Learning Sites Visits, the participants were able to have site tours around Siete Pecados Marine Protected Area (MPA), Balisungan MPA-Women Managed Area, and Seaweed farm in Barangay Tagumpay, Coron, Palawan, with convocations with environmental advocates therein. It highlighted the best practices and knowledge management tools, and sustainable fisheries management in the Calamianes for LGUs and other stakeholders.

The PCSDS and USAID Figh-Right are partners in ensuring marine protection and conservation in Palawan, in collaboration with the local government units and its stakeholders through the implementation of projects and initiatives that are in line with their environmental thrusts across the region.
