𝐖𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐢, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚; 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟑𝟎 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟎𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 – Themed “Optimizing Multi-stakeholders Collaboration for Biodiversity Conservation and Socio-economic Resilience in Biosphere Reserves,” the event drew representatives from various biosphere reserves across Southeast Asia.
The meeting was hosted by the Government of Wakatobi, with support from Wakatobi National Park and the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO. It was facilitated by the SeaBRNet Secretariat at UNESCO Jakarta, further bolstered by the Japanese Funds-in-Trust (JFIT).
PCSD, the management authority of Palawan BR, through its staff, represented the Philippine Biosphere Reserve Network and the Philippine National Commission for UNESCO, showcasing the Philippines’ commitment to biosphere conservation efforts.
The central focus of the gathering was to promote collaboration among stakeholders involved in biosphere reserves across Southeast Asia. Specifically, participants aimed to enhance joint efforts for biodiversity conservation and socio-economic resilience. The meeting provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and innovative ideas, fostering a conducive environment for sustainable development in biosphere reserves throughout the region.
