On December 5, 2025, the PCSDS Enforcement Team received a Red-footed Booby (Sula sula), turned over by Pat Rodel Lustre of the PNP Maritime Group – Bataraza. The seabird was discovered along the shoreline of Sitio Tagdalungon, Barangay Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan, with its feet entangled in a fishing net.
Recognizing the bird’s vulnerable condition, the finder acted swiftly to coordinate its rescue. The Enforcement Team then transported the booby to the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (PWRCC) for proper care and rehabilitation.
This migratory seabird is known for its striking red feet and exceptional diving abilities. Let this serve as a reminder to practice responsible waste disposal and report any wildlife in distress.
