Taytay is finally oil-spill free!
Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)-North joined the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) of Taytay on September 5, in its field observation-validation of the oil-spill affected barangays in Taytay by the ill-fated MT Princess Empress that sank in Oriental Mindoro in March.
In collaboration with the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMA), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO), the oil-spill field-validation was conducted in Bgy. Casian, Bgy. Debangan, Bgy. Biton, Bgy. Calawag, and Bgy. Pamantolon; and which resulted in the determination that the municipality no longer exhibits any vestiges of its environmental damage, with proper recompense already made to the individuals and properties damaged by it.
This will then be incorporated into a situational report which the PCG of Taytay will forward to the local government of Mindoro for their copy and perusal.
PCSDS is a member of the Oil Spill Response Team which was formed on March 23, 2023, purposely created to manage and resolve the oil-spill damage in the municipality, through the provisions of Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) for Palawan Act, or Republic Act No. 7611.

Sa pakikipagtulungan ng Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMA), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), at Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO), isinagawa ang nasabing aktibidades sa Bgy. Casian, Bgy. Debangan, Bgy. Biton, Bgy. Calawag, at Bgy. Pamantolon.
