
March 6, 2024 – During the 29th Crocodile Conservation Week, Wildlife Enforcement Officers (WEOs) officially took their oath. The ceremony was administered by Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Arzaga of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and witnessed by Executive Director Atty. Teodoro Jose S. Matta at Palawan State University (PalSU). This significant event saw a total of 27 WEOs commit to their roles, including 15 staff/individuals from the Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) and 12 from the PCSDS itself.

In addition to the oath-taking, PCSDS participated in several conservation activities, including a Motorcade, Wildlife Visit, and the Ceremonial Transfer of hatchling crocodiles. These events underscore the critical importance of crocodile conservation in maintaining our ecosystems and highlight ongoing efforts to ensure the survival of this key species.


Further, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the Sangguniang Bayan of Balabac and Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Palawan for their invaluable support in the development and effective implementation of the ten year Crocodile Conservation Strategy for Indo-Pacific Crocodiles in the municipality of Balabac.
