𝐓𝐰𝐨 (𝟐) 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲- 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 “𝐏𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐲” 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐂𝐒𝐃𝐒

On September 6, two (2) critically endangered Blue-naped parrots (𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘴 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴 ), or locally known as “Pikoy”, were turned over to Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS).

The first ‘Pikoy’ was handed over by Mr. Danilo Bautista Jr., a resident of Burgos Street, Bgy. Masipag, Puerto Princesa City, at the PCSDS Main Office-Puerto Princesa City; meanwhile, the second ‘Pikoy’ was turned over at the District Management Office (DMO)-Narra by Mr. Jerry Yu of Barangay Antipuluan, Narra, Palawan.

Under PCSD Resolution No. 15-521, the Blue-Naped Parrot is a “critically endangered species.”

Noong ika-6 ng Setyembre, dalawang (2) pikoy ang inihatid sa mga kawani ng Palawan Council for Sustainable Development.
Ang unang pikoy ay inihatid ni G. Danilo Bautista Jr., residente ng Burgos Street, Bgy. Masipag, Puerto Princesa City, sa PCSDS Main Office; samantalang ang ikalawang pikoy naman ay isinurender sa PCSDS District Management Office (DMO)-Narra ni G. Jerry Yu ng Barangay Antipuluan, Narra, Palawan.

Sa ilalim ng PCSD Resolution No. 15-521, nanganganib ng maubos (“critically endangered species) ang lahi ng nasabing pikoy. Kailangang paigtingin ang pangangalaga sa kanila.

Hinihikayat ng PCSDS ang publiko na isangguni sa kanila ang mga isyung may kinalaman sa buhay-ilang sa Palawan.
