Puerto Princesa City โ€“ Reinforcing its dedication to safeguarding wildlife and preserving natural habitats within the Palawan Biosphere Reserve, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) formally deputized ten (10) new Wildlife Enforcement Officers (WEOs) during the Councilโ€™s 325th regular meeting on October 24, 2025.

The oath of office was administered by PCSD Chairperson Hon. Amy Roa Alvarez, pursuant to the authority granted under Section 30 of Republic Act No. 9147, or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.

Under PCSD Resolution No. 24-1002, the newly deputized officers are likewise designated as Cave Protection Enforcement Officers (CPEOs). This dual designation empowers them to implement the provisions of both RA No. 9147 and PCSD Administrative Order No. 12, as well as RA No. 9072, or the National Caves and Cave Resources Management and Protection Act, and PCSD Administrative Order No. 08.

The expansion of PCSDโ€™s enforcement team further strengthens efforts to ensure that the rich biodiversity and ecological treasures of the Palawan Biosphere Reserve remain protected and preserved for future generations of Palaweรฑos.
